I Checked The List Twice?

FOR AS LONG as i can remember, there has always been a standout gift that I wanted the most. This holiday season however, none has come to my mind, and its not from the lack of trying. The product I covet the most this Christmas, is the Macbook, but I plan to buy one after Christmas, to (hopefully) beat the sales, and to wait for an increase in my Bank Account balance. My lecturer will suggest that I should attempt to get the college to pay for it, but we both know that is an absurd idea.

No this Christmas will be a quiet one. No extravagance, no relatives coming from abroad, and I still have to check whether Christmas dinner is still on. The house is half decorated, but were missing the paramount thing, a tree. Yes we could get one from  distributor outside a retail centre, but it is a sort of tradition to do go Curragh Chase, and buy one from the heartland of the tree’s we chop, light up, and eventually burn for heat Mid- January.

Whenever I think of what makes the most memorable Christmas, it always seems to be the year before for me, waking up to hear my cousins scream that they got their Scaletrix. I woke up to a Wii, some clothes, some RAM, and a bunch of smiling faces. But I should not think of that much longer, now that 2008 is almost over, and the horrors that have stared us directly in the eye. An economic crisis, a war in South Ossetia, a frighteningly exhilarating presidential race, and some pork thats a bit gone off.

The examinations are almost concluded, and they went like the semester, quite fast. There have been slow days, but on a whole, knowing that 1/8th of my stay at Clonmel has been completed, reassures myself that I will be career orientated in no time.

And so tomorrow I shall be glad to know the fact I wont have to sit in the cold computer labs until January 19th. To a new timetable, a new laptop, and a new direction of the world the following day. We’re spoilt, especially around this time of the year.
